What are mandatory extras?
Updated over a week ago

Mandatory extras are additional costs required by the charter company when renting their boat. These are always listed in the offer provided by Borrow A Boat.

Payment and Common Types

  • Payment at the Base: It is standard practice in the sailing industry to pay for mandatory extras directly at the base to the charter company.

  • Common Mandatory Extras:

    • Charter Fee: A standard fee charged by the charter company.

    • Transit Log: Includes costs for end cleaning, inspection, and mooring fees for the first and last nights.

    • Charter Package: Typically includes end cleaning and may also cover gas for cooking, towels, bed linen, an outboard engine, and other essentials.

Ensuring All Extras Are Included

Always ensure that all the extras you discussed during the booking process are mentioned in the booking confirmation you received from us. This helps avoid any surprises or misunderstandings upon arrival.
